David Černý received the Vojtěch Náprstek Medal of Honor for his services to the popularization of science. The medal is awarded by the Czech Academy of Sciences in recognition of long-term, systematic and purposeful activities in the popularization of scientific knowledge.

The Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic is a co-organizer of the 11th annual traditional conference dedicated to corporate law, which will take place on September 29–30, 2025 in Smolenice, Slovakia. This time, it focuses on the topic of Corporate Law and the Lawyer.
The Institute of State and Law celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2025. On February 1, 1955, it was founded under the name of the Institute of Law within the VII. Section of Economics and Law of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, as the basis for a planned unified workplace for basic research in the field of science of state and law. The Institute of State and Law was historically the first workplace in the Czech lands to focus on broadly conceived basic legal research.
On May 14 and 15, 2025, the Congress of Czech Lawyers was held in the Karolina building in Prague on the topic Will the Digital Age Benefit Justice? The congress was co-organized by the Association of Law Faculties, of which the Institute of State and Law is also a member.
The Institute of State and Law is organizing an international conference on May 7, 2025, focused on the regulation of personalization in the media and the issue of privacy protection and personal autonomy in relation to personalized content. The conference will take place online via the Zoom platform from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CET. The conference's language is English.
