The term "periphery" represents much more than just the geographical delineation of marginal areas. It can refer to cultural, social, or economic aspects that exist outside the mainstream society, beyond the hegemonic center. This series of three workshops will offer a unique perspective on various types of peripheries and their influence on contemporary society, culture, and law.

On 9 September at 13:30, the Institute of State and Law of the CAS is organizing a workshop on the legal aspects of conversational AI. The workshop will be held with the participation of Prof. Dr. Martin Ebers, author of a number of monographs and scholarly articles on the law of technology.

Archbishop of Prague and the Primate of Bohemia Mons. Jan Graubner presented a Head of our Editorial Board, Professor Michal Tomášek, with the Saint Adalbert Gold Medal for many years of research activities and his contribution to the knowledge of history of the Church and Church law. The solemn act took place in the Cathedral of St. Vitus, Wenceslas and Adalbert at the end of the pilgrimage mass on the occasion of the feast of St. Vitus on June 15, 2024.

On 25 June 2024, the Institute of State and Law of the CAS will organize an international conference on "Artificial Intelligence, Personalization and Law".

The conference will be held online.
