Department of Legal Theory and Legal History
The Department of Legal Theory and Legal History deals primarily with the following topics: Research on political authority and its justification, primarily from the perspective of analytical philosophy, research on fundamental rights (their roles and applications) and their historical development, primarily in the context of the concept of the rule of law, research on the transfers of legal solutions and legal thinking, primarily in the Central European context. A separate topic is research on legal informatics and legal language. In this way, it connects private and public law topics, which it also connects with their deeper theoretical assumptions, and thus seeks to provide a basis for cooperation with other fields.
